Calm

Things have been so hectic at this job of mine lately.  I found this little notebook in the most amazing little vintage shop... so now, this is repeating in my mind all the time...

Vintage finds

We have rediscovered our love for all things vintage...  and we were so thrilled when we found these... just love the red, it matches my kitchen perfectly.

Vintage Popcorn maker - the cover doubles as the bowl.

Vintage Slushy Maker - yes, deep down we do still feel like kids!!!

I heart coffee mugs...

I found this teapot and mugs at a local shop for a steal...
although they were separately bought I think they match perfectly!!!
I got three of each and just love, love, love them!!!

I bought new red and black motiff mugs a short while ago but these are for now my absolute favourite.  I just feel all loved when I hold a mug of hot steaming coffee in these...

Cookie Jar

My favourite buy for Christmas 2012!!!  Who could resist this cute Santa cookie jar?  Well, not me.  I saw it and just had to have it.  The platters were a bonus and Graham was so sweet to indulge in my festive cheer.

We baked some old fashioned "soetkoekies" to fill him up and used the platters for our usual mince pies and my homemade shortbread. And my little sweetie pie was right there to enjoy it with me.
Oooeeee, I just love Christmas!!!!

Christmas Fireworks Countdown

This fireworks display was a free event hosted by our local shopping mall Westfield.  They host this every year to countdown the Festive Season.  We packed a picnic blanket, snacks and umbrellas and had the most amazing evening out as a family.  It was the best fireworks we have ever seen and boy was it loud!!!  Ethan's hands was over his ears most of the time but they all loved it.  This is sure to become another Allison family tradition in years to come.

Christmas Tree Tagging 2012

This was our first time getting a real Christmas tree.  We drove about 30km to this Christmas Tree Farm all excited and happy.

Here you get to choose your own tree out of hundreds, you tag it and paint your name on the base and when you are ready you come cut it off and take it home.

We are so excited about this new family Christmas tradition we have begun.

And it's ours...  now to get down to decorating it soon!!!

Wine of the Month

This is the two new red wines I tried and really enjoyed.  Matua Valley and Obikwa, last being a South African wine, much to my delight.  I only noticed it when I got home!!!!
